tree hugging with style

Well the rush from the weekend of Expo's is over and Angie and I were quite tired, lots of interesting booths at Miami and Lakeland Expos. It is amazing all the new technologies that are coming out, it is an exciting time for our planet. Each of the exhibits were unique in their own ways, whether it be lighting, building materials, toothpaste, biodiesel, hybrid boats, totally electric cars, or the good old blender. Each one of them were an improvement or a new technology to the ones we have today.

Solar Panels are getting stronger, thinner, flexable, and are becoming more affordable so the possiblities are really endless. If you are interested in a solar water heater or other panels for your home, you will be entitled to not only a federal but a possible state tax rebate as well. The rebate could be somewhat significant depending on the size of the system you put in. For instance a solar hot water system rebate could be up to $1500.00 or more depending on what state you are living in. In the long run a system like this will save you money on your energy bills throughout every year.

Products made from recycled plastics have come a long way from the bottle. The nextt time you buy carpeting look for the carpeting that is made from recycled plastics. It has the same look and feel of the regular fiber carpet, the same luxurious comfort, but can cost significantly less. Does $.88 a sq foot sound good to you? Also look for carpeting made from corn, yes I said corn. The durablitiy of both these types of carpets will last for years. I was really impressed by the corn carpet and let me tell you why. After the team of experts invented this they decided to test the durability of it, so they decided to put it to the ultimate test. They decided to have a black rhino test it for 14 days. The Rhino named Ricko was up to the challenge, the people from Mohawk lined the inner cage with the carpeting. Ricko gave it no mercy, and it came clean. If you would like to see this challenge please follow this link for more information http://www.smartstrandchallenge.com/press.html you will not be dissappointed.

We saw a few new cars coming out for 2011. I must say I fell in love with the Wheego. It is the perfect car to putt around town in. It is completely electric. It holds a charge for up to 100 miles. You may not want to take it on vacation, but your daily errands around town would be perfect for this car. And I must say it is completely adorable. Toyota is also coming out with a new all electric car in 2011. If you are a boat enthusiast the new Endeavor Green Electric Hybrid Yacht might be right up your alley. With all the perks including a bathroom, bar, refridgerator, and leather seats it is the perfect family boat for a fun filled time.

So what ever your pleasure there is a new product out there for you to take advantage of the next time you remodel, build, or simply buy a car, check out the new "green" technologies coming out and don't forget about your tax rebates.
