Recipe: Simply the Best Brownies

This goes out to all the chocolate lovers out there.... Simply the Best Brownies from The Supernatural Kids Cookbook by Nancy Mehagian. Not only with this suffice your sweet tooth, but it is also simple to make.

 

Here's what you'll need...

• A preheated oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit
• 1/2 cup butter
• 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
• 1 cup raw sugar
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
• 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour or white whole wheat flour

First, melt the butter and chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat... don't forget to stir constantly! After your concoction has melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar. Next, add the eggs and vanilla.... stir until smooth! If you are using nuts, add them now. Stir in the flour and blend well (the batter will be thick).

 

Grease an 8 inch by 8 inch baking pan with butter, pour the batter in and spread evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
