Recent events in Haiti remind us that disaster can happen at any time, and while the initial damages here at home (Katrina) have been overcome, it has definitely not been forgotten. After the massive influx of hurricanes Katina, Wilma, and Rita, an organization was started to help devastated children - from classroom to classroom. Kids to the Rescue is an organization founded in 2005, with the intention of instilling the belief in children at a young age that they can make a difference, and every little bit counts. The organization's founders learned that kids thought their small contributions couldn't help make a difference, but wanted to show then that when we come together, our little efforts build collectively to create a bigger difference. What a wonderful building block for teaching our kids how to help! For more information on Kids to the Rescue, or to make a donation (as little as one dollar!), you can visit them on their websitefan on facebook for up to the minute updates on whats happening and how you (and the kiddies) can help!
