For over 25 years the Children’s Nature Institute has been implementing nature education programs to over a quarter million children, teachers and schools and parents all over Los Angeles. CNI provides kids (and families!) with hands on learning experience in an experimental and environmentally conscious atmosphere, encouraging children to ask questions, explore and observe nature and get outside for a change. So, whether it be through digging in the dirt, taking a nature hike, going on an exciting exploration or a classroom visit and group discussion with peers and an Environmental Educator, The Children’s Nature Institute is committed to helping our youth better understand and love our earth. And we here at The Little Seed think they may be on to something!
The Kids ROCK Festival is a free concert and outdoor event that helps benefit this awesome organization. The Festival is age appropriate for everyone! While rockin’ out, kids can enjoy a variety of activities including face painting, bag making out of recycled products, a visit to the WonderMobile (where they can touch and hold live animals and cool artifacts!) mosaic making and SO much more. The Festival will also include HEALTHY food trucks and vendors, serving nutritious food and snacks only.
It’s organizations like this and events like this that can make a difference in a child’s life. Teaching and reminding them that entertainment doesn’t only live in our televisions, computers and gadgets; it lives all around us. So let’s dig in and care for this amazing place we call home, our earth!
