California Dreaming

Two of my top reasons for loving SF's California Academy of Sciences:

1. It's a great place to go on a rainy day. Weekends can be a challenge, but weekdays are great! (Play hooky!)

2. I can teach my kids about the interdependence of all the creatures on our globe without being preachy just by hanging out in the Academy's 4-level rainforest, living reef or one the world's deepest coral aquariums.

I always leave left over breadcrumbs and of course, birdy seeds in the 'garden' (it's still a work-in-progress) so that it's a happy home to birds and other small wildlife. The bees go crazy when the cherry tree blossoms. It's amazing to hear the sound when you walk up the steps. And they're awfully nice, not bothering us at all but just going about their buzzness.
